ZPPSU-GAD Hosts Training-Workshop on GAD Agenda 2025

To advance gender equality initiatives in Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University, the Gender and Development (GAD) office conducted a transformative one-day training workshop at Seafood House on November 25, this year.

The event aimed to formulate the GAD Agenda 2025 and conduct a GAD audit, which was spearheaded by the Director of ZPPSU – Gender and Development Ms. Ma. Fe M. Dela Cruz and co-facilitated by Ms. Ma. Flor Jessamine Andajao, GAD Alternate Focal Person and Ms. Danalyn R. Echem, CET GAD Coordinator.

The workshop commenced with a welcome address from Mr. Arnel H. Lee, the Supervising Administrative Officer, who emphasized the pivotal role of the workshop, stating, “Our collective efforts today hold the potential to contribute significantly to the creation of a more equitable and sustainable university.”

The distinguished resource speaker, Prof. Rosalyn Romo Echem, and member of the PCW National GAD Resource Pool, focused on the formulation of the GAD Strategic Framework, encompassing the Vision, Mission, Goals, and the GAD Strategic Plan, among others.

Moreover, Prof. Echem suggested to maximize and utilize the existing data for Gender Analysis and has emphasized the formulation of university program proposals integrating gender-sensitive initiatives.

Subsequently, Dr. Bonnie A. Andabon, Vice President for Research Development and Extension, expressed profound gratitude and highlighted the enlightenment gained from the workshop. He stressed that the comprehensive GAD agenda formulated during the session would significantly benefit the ZPPSU community.

The training workshop was attended by GAD focal members, Vice Presidents, core officials, and college GAD coordinators.
